Unlock Labs Integrates Privy for Streamlined Onboarding and Login
Unlock Labs apps have been integrated with Privy.io. This integration enables a range of login options for onchain wallet users as well as those users who want to connect to Unlock Labs apps using other traditional options like email login.
Unlock Labs has significantly updated its onboarding, login and wallet creation process by integrating with Privy.io. This experience simplifies access management for users interacting with Unlock Labs applications and creates a more streamlined experience.
This integration enables a range of login options for onchain wallet users as well as users who want to connect to Unlock Labs apps using other traditional options like email login.
“The range of onchain experiences powered by Unlock has motivated our product work since we started Privy. This team has done so much to push our market forward pioneering onchain subscriptions and memberships, and we couldn’t be more excited to help them offer great UX for crypto newcomers and natives alike,” says Max Segall, Privy’s COO.
How Privy Improves User Experience
Integrating Privy adds additional flexibility and choice to how users access and manage Unlock Labs apps. By supporting both wallet-based connections and email-based access, Privy allows people to interact with Unlock Labs applications in the way that suits them best.
This means existing onchain users can connect with familiar tools, while new users have an easy on-ramp without needing to create a wallet upfront.
Multiple sign-in options, including Google Accounts
This new onboarding flow greatly enhances authentication options for Unlock Labs apps and offers users more flexibility and convenience.
Recognizing the need for familiar and easy-to-use sign-in methods, this improved experience includes access via Google Accounts.
This allows users to sign in using their Google Accounts, providing a simple and familiar email-based authentication option.
That said, crypto-native users who already have wallets can still authenticate and connect to Unlock Labs apps using Coinbase Wallet, Metamask, Farcaster, or Wallet Connect.
By supporting these various sign-in methods, Unlock Labs ensures that users can choose the option that best suits their needs and preferences.
Magic links
Another new feature is the support of an email code magic link-style option. This enables users to sign in using a secure, one-time code sent to their email, providing another convenient, familiar and secure sign-in approach.
Passkeys and more
Future implementations will also support passkeys, the increasingly popular mechanism for user authentication. Passkeys offer an additional layer of security, ensuring that user accounts remain protected against unauthorized access while affording fast, seamless access to applications.
Continuing to ship
These enhancements are part of Unlock Labs' broader strategy to continuously improve the experience for users of Unlock Protocol connected applications.
At Unlock Labs, we’re focused on creating tools that meet people where they are — whether they're crypto veterans or just onboarding. Privy is helping us achieve this goal, helping to make Unlock Labs apps even more approachable.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build a flexible, accessible ecosystem for onchain memberships, subscriptions, and related applications.
